Sarhul is a major tribal festival of Jharkhand that marks the Adivasi New Year and the onset of spring. Rooted in the worship of nature, especially the Sal (Shorea robusta) tree, it symbolizes the union of the Earth and the Sun and celebrates the harmony between humans and their environment. It is chiefly observed by the Oraon, Munda, Ho, Khadia, and Santal tribes across the Chhotanagpur plateau.
